Nimans UK, a well-established name in the telecommunications industry, has been a pivotal player in providing businesses with cutting-edge communication solutions. Founded in 1981 by Julian Niman, the company has grown from a small family business into one of the UK's most respected telecommunications distributors.

Over the decades, Nimans has maintained a strong focus on innovation, customer service, and the ability to adapt to the rapidly changing technological landscape.

Gary Redshaw, who has been at Nimans for over 30 years has made it his mission to keep the business heartsafe in the event of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).  As Nimans employ over 140 staff, Gary installed 3 defibrillators in the building - one in the reception, one in the office and one in their busy moving warehouse.

Each member of staff is made aware of the locations and is trained on how to use a defibrillator and perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

What is Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)?

SCA is a medical condition that occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating. This happens due to an electrical malfunction in the heart that disrupts its normal rhythm, leading to a loss of blood flow to the brain and other vital organs. Without prompt medical intervention such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation, SCA is fatal within minutes.

Why Do We Need Defibrillators?

Defibrillators are medical devices used to treat life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias, such as ventricular fibrillation (VF) and pulseless ventricular tachycardia (VT). These conditions disrupt the heart's ability to pump blood effectively to the vital organs including the brain, leading to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)

Time is essential during SCA

Every second counts when someone suffers a SCA, making timing a crucial factor in the chain of survival.

Administering CPR promptly is vital to sustaining blood circulation and oxygenation to the body's organs, particularly the brain. This underscores the critical importance of bystander CPR in increasing the likelihood of survival until professional help arrives.

The use of a defibrillator significantly improves survival rates. The sooner defibrillation is administered within 3-5 minutes increases survival chances from 6% to 74%.

The Circuit

Gary has added his defibrillators on the circuit network. The Circuit recognises the critical importance of defibrillator access, The network was conceived as a collaborative effort between community stakeholders, emergency responders, and healthcare professionals.

The network's core objective is to establish a comprehensive infrastructure of strategically located defibrillators, ensuring rapid response to SCA incidents across various settings.

Nimans have also worked closely with their neighboring business and community in the area by informing them the defibrillator is available in the event of an emergency. With the building being situated on a busy main road, having the defibrillators on the circuit gives emergency services options and that one is available if needed during a public incident.

We are delighted to supply and support Nimans with all their defibrillator and knowledgeable needs.
