### What is an IP Rating?

Posted by **Jenny Brannan**

January 27, 2020

IP Ratings are extremely important features for defibrillators. They determine their protection against both dust and water.

AED Product Specialist, Reece provides further insight into what they are:

### Transcript:

Hi. My name is Reece from defibshop and today I'm going to talk to you about IP Ratings.

IP Ratings are also known as Ingress Protection Ratings and this will show you the level of protection that an electronic device has against dust and water.

The first number relates to the protection against dust and the second number relates to the protection against water and so the higher the IP Rating the greater protection a defibrillator will have against dust and water.
