If the iPAD SP1 has out-of-date pads or an expired battery installed, the defibrillator will beep. To check this, firstly, refer to the dates printed on the accessories. The electrode pads have an expiry date printed on them, the battery has a manufacturer date. The battery has a shelf life of up to 5 years.

LCD Screen

The iPAD SP1 is also equipped with an LCD Status Screen on the front of the device. This will display to the user the battery level and the pad status. Below is a guide that displays the different stages of this: 

 

 

The unit also has an 'Information Button' which will flash if the unit has an issue, the unit will verbally tell you what is wrong. 

 

Error Codes

In terms of Error Codes, the only one you need to be aware of is ERROR CODE 1. This error code means that the device has a low battery and requires replacing, so the device can be used during an emergency. 

If the machine presents you with any other codes, supplier Wel Medical must be notified as soon as possible.
